In 2012, the LEGO® Company celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the LEGO Wheel we know and love today. The very first set of wheels and tyres sold 820,400 boxes!
Half of all LEGO sets contain wheels, so the factory in Billund, Denmark now produces 870,000 tyres a day, every day of the year! This makes us the world’s largest manufacturer of tyres...even if our biggest ones are only 10.7cm tall!
